This is one of those lame New Three Stooges limited animation tv cartoons, with live-action bumpers by the Stooges themselves. This one features the Stooges trying to avoid being eaten by a cannibal tribe, while the bumpers feature a very old, lethargic, and tame lion who is so pathetic they had to dub in a roar. ThereÂ?s a real bottom-of-the-barrel feel to this, as if nobody cared about the kids at home watching, except for maybe the local hosts that showed syndicated cartoons like this. Something to watch when nothing else is on.
Ratings: Camp/Humor Value: **. Weirdness: ***. Historical Interest: ***. Overall Rating: **.
The Three Stooges, animated or not, aren?t my all time favorite comedy team. I have seen some of these when I was younger, and even then I knew they weren?t funny. But, that was then, this is now, So I decided to give them another try. Guess what? It?s still quite lame, story and animation wise. Basically, this features the three in a jungle of some sort when they come across a tribesman wearing a top-hat. After saying something hilarious to the effect of ?We?d love to have you for dinner?, the three find themselves in a stew! Ha! Get it? I make jokes as good as the cartoon. The ending for this cartoon is LAME.
O.K, Bill T. and Christine Hennig, Your negative reviews are utterly unnecessary. And as being honest and giving your opinion is fine, if you(Bill T.)really think that this short is so lame, why are you watching it. None of us want to hear it. Christine Henning, I figure you are at the bottom of the barrel for entertainment value yourself. Anyways, Three Stooges, you guys are the best. R.I.P. my friends, Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp, Curly-Joe DeRita, and yes, you too, you whiny little son of a gun, Joe Besser….
Well, these cartoons are crap, that is beyond dispute. But keep in mind that they were part of a process in the 60s whereby the surviving Stooges, Moe and Larry, received a lot of the credit, recognition and MONEY they were owed by Columbia Pictures, and arguably society at large. In their prime, the Three Stooges were the BEST. Let’s not begrudge them this.
I found this cartoon quite funny. I am a great fan of the Stooges. I cannot see how someone would find them not funny. Maybe they have no sense of humour. I love slapstick comedy and have an extensive collection of Stooge movies and a few cartoons. Not this one but The Noisy Silent Movie, Hairbrained Barbers, The Littlest Martian and Mummies Boys.
Everywhere I go I see people ripping on these 3 stooges cartoons, and I don’t see why. True, there’s nothing awesome or groundbreaking about them, but so what? Few cartoons are awesome or groundbreaking, that doesn’t mean they aren’t enjoyable. Granted the animation quality is very poor, but then again, it’s nearly identical to rocky & bullwinkle and underdog, yet I don’t see people complaining about those shows. While I find the live action wraparounds very stiff & poorly done, I find the overall experience of watching these cartoons quite fun & enjoyable.
absolutely no humor or comedy. the boys are on an island and are about to get eaten, they challenge the tribe leader to a contest, if they defeat the big indian guy they go free, if they lose they get eaten. then at the end it turns up he was just joking.
